Robert Townsend

Robert hails from Memphis Tennessee, and calls thru the Advanced level.  R.T. as his friends call him, has called all over the United States and in Europe.  He has that certain Southern Gentleman personality that dancers gravitate to.  R.T. has recorded for 20 years with Lou-Mac Records, delivering a number of solid Square Dance tunes.  Several years ago R.T. along with his partner Don Wood, purchased Lou-Mac Records and together they have produced new and contemporary music such as YMCA, Funky Cowboy, Biloxi Lady, and several others.  Look for R.T. at a dance near you.

Don Wood

A Washington native, Don has traveled world-wide calling square dances. He became interested in calling as a young boy, when his club caller asked him to do a singing call at a club dance. Several years later, while Don was in the service, he went back through square dance lessons and again the calling attraction began. Over the years Don had been playing and singing in several bands, and music had always been a large part of his life, so the transition to square dance caller seemed to be a natural progression.  Don has been a featured caller at many state and regional festivals. Most recently Don was a featured caller with Matt Worley and Charlie Robertson at the Washington State Square Dance Festival in Ocean Shores WA. He considers this to be one of his greatest honors.  Don calls Mainstream - C1 and is the club caller for the Lacey Daisys and Capital Singles Square Dance Clubs of Olympia WA, the Boots & Laces in Kent WA,  and the Prairie Steppers Square Dance Club in Centralia WA.  He is co-owner and producer / recording artist for Lou-Mac Records, recording many popular square dance tunes.
